I have had an amazing season so far this year both on the track and the road. It started in April when I won the Adidas Mini London marathon, beating the favourite and establishing a new course record for the race which was made longer this year. On the road I also came 3rd in the Bupa Great Manchester Run. Later this year I will be taking to the road again in the Swansea 10k and the Bupa Great South Run. The track has also been great and I have achieved personal bests in all of my races from 100m through to 5k. The highlight of my track year was the IWAS Junior World Championships in New Jersey, USA. The competition started with the 5k. The age groups were mixed and the under 16s raced with the under 18s. I came first in my age group and 4th overall so that was a good start. I then went on to take silver in the sprints losing out to Canada by just hundreth's of seconds. My final race was the 1,500 in which I took gold. Receiving gold on the podium with the National Anthem of your country playing is just an awesome feeling. I also made some amazing new friends at this competition. I am also very excited and proud to have been invited to Beijing for the start of the 2008 Paralympics by the London Development Agency. I hope you enjoy looking around my site.
